Business Development Manager

Overview

Lyonshare is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive the business development efforts for Lyonshare. The role will be focused on identifying new business opportunities with early stage founders, VCs, funds and strategic partners, establishing and nurturing our existing relationships with these key stakeholders, and developing proposals and events to drive business growth.

Lyonshare is a strategic business building agency for tech startups and funds. We work directly with founders and GPs offering business planning and strategic finance advisory and brand development with a focus on creating and accelerating young businesses. We’ve advised our clients on securing more than $3B of funding from tier 1 investors and partnerships with Fortune 500 companies.

 

Responsibilities & expectations

●      Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to promote Lyonshare and monitor progress towards these goals

●      Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitive landscape to effectively position Lyonshare’s offerings, provide market intelligence, and make recommendations on potential business opportunities and partnerships

●      Proactively identify and generate leads through various channels, including networking, cold reach-out, attending industry events, and leveraging existing relationships

●      Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations, understanding their business needs, and presenting tailored solutions to address those needs

●      Deliver compelling pitches to clients, showcasing the value and benefits of our services including developing customized proposals and pricing models based on their objectives,. this includes designing and developing new revenue-generating products

●      Operate in the field as the lead representative of Lyonshare, meeting with current and prospective partners and clients and attending events on our behalf

 

Our ideal candidate

●      Established existing network in the tech startup and venture capital ecosystem with a minimum of 200+ relationships, including VCs and superconnectors

●      Proven track record of successfully closing complex sales, partnerships, and/or events deals

●      A passion for entrepreneurship and the startup ecosystem

●      Driven and relentless problem solver with strong strategic thinking skills

●      Highly skilled relationship builder with a passion for creating a strong client experience

●      Strong communication, negotiation, networking, marketing and closing skills

●      Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision

●      Organized and detail oriented—you won’t let a potential partner slip through the cracks

●      4 to 7 years of relevant business development, partnerships, account management or industry experience

 

Compensation

The base pay for this position is dependent on experience and will include a commission package

 

Location  

Hybrid working model and flexible hours, must be based in NYC or SF although this position is at least half remote
