The CEO first reached out for help with the company’s data room after board feedback flagged it as a gap, but the engagement quickly grew into a full narrative and design overhaul that carried OneLayer into an oversubscribed Series A raise.

Our Approach

Challenge

OneLayer had already engaged a pitch deck firm and was unhappy with the results, yet understandably wary of spending more on another service. Board feedback had surfaced the data room as the immediate problem, but once work began it became clear the deck itself needed a complete narrative and design rebuild. The biggest area of investor pushback was TAM, the company had to translate deeply technical positioning into messaging that landed with non-technical investors, and back it with a defensible market analysis built from the ground up.

Solution

Lyonshare pushed the team to sharpen company framing, traction, and messaging, with extra work on TAM and competition two highly underutilized strategy slides. Once the story was set we had the right framework to rebuild the data room. OneLayer raised $25M against a $20M target, and signed a term sheet less than a month after project completion, with the CEO crediting the speed to stronger messaging and positioning. The relationship has continued and  the CEO has referred founders and VCs who we’re actively working with.

Lyonshare pushed us to crisp our messaging for a non-technical audience and sharpen our company mission, framing, and TAM analysis. The strict framing iterations were real homework but drove us toward the end goal. Time is money, and even though each hour wasn’t cheap, every hour they spent created five to ten working hours where our team was moving in the right direction. It cost twice the alternative, and it was worth every bit of the outcome.
